Fine Arts
Edison's award-winning Fine Arts department produces artists of the highest caliber in each of its disciplines. Magnet Program
The magnet program of advanced placement studies is designed to challenge and stimulate students academically and personally in a unique educational environment. It combines high academic standards with advanced technology as a central tool for learning. The program is designed to serve students with varied abilities who are capable of academic achievement in an atmosphere of excellence.

Admissions Qualifications
Program Requirements
With the wide range of Pre-AP and AP courses offered at Edison High School, students have the flexibility to personalize the Magnet Program to match their academic strengths. Students choose which courses they wish to take in order to fulfill their requirements for the Magnet Program. Students in Edison's Magnet Program must fulfill the following academic requirements by taking a minimum of:
- Freshmen and Sophomores:
- 3 Pre-AP classes or 1 AP class and 1 Pre-AP class
- Juniors and Seniors:
- 2 AP classes
Policy Statement
Students in the Magnet Program of Advanced Placement Studies must maintain a GPA of 2.5. Any failures in the academic core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies) MUST be made up prior to the start of the next school year. Elective class failures must be corrected in one year.
Transfer students who are not successful in the Magnet Program will not be allowed to move to the regular academic program at Edison. They must remain in the Magnet Program or request a transfer to return to their home school
AP Courses
College Credit
Most four-year colleges in the United States and colleges in more than 60 other countries give students credit, advanced placement or both on the basis of AP Exam scores. By entering college with AP credits, you'll have the time to move into upper level courses, pursue a double-major or study abroad.
