MS UNIFORM PURCHASES FOR 08-09 SCHOOL YEAR 

Dear Parents of Edison Preparatory Middle School Students for 2008-09, 

     In order for parents to continue to purchase approved uniform apparel for this school year, we are delineating again in this letter the uniform requirements.  Student uniform items can be purchased from any vendor as long as they meet specific requirements listed below.   

    Some items, such as Edison plaid skorts or skirts, will be found at K.Renee’s Uniform Closet, 5557 E. 41st St., 627-3341, uniformcloset.com. or at C & J School Uniforms, Inc., 4950 S. 79th E. Ave. in FontanaShopping Center, 610-7470.  K. Renee’s and C & J’s stock all other items as well.  In addition, parents can order many approved items from French Toast by calling 1-800-373-6248 or ordering online at www.FrenchToast.com (Edison source code is QS5HSVG).  By bringing your JC Penney uniform purchase receipts to the Edison Main Office or using your Edison source code when ordering from French Toast, you help fund school activity scholarships.  Students can pick and choose which items they need; no single item is required for purchase. 

TOPS

• All except sweatshirts must be tucked in! 
• Short & long sleeve white or “Edison green” jersey knit collared polo style shirts (logo optional) “EDISON GREEN” IS A DARK, FOREST GREEN. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR SAGE, OLIVE, KELLY, MOSS OR LIME GREEN!   
• Short & long sleeve white, khaki, or Edison green oxford shirts. 
• Short & long sleeve white camp shirts for girls (pockets, button front, collared & semi-fitted) ONLY PLAIN WHITE, CREW NECKED UNDERSHIRTS ARE ALLOWED UNDER UNIFORM SHIRTS; No visible layering allowed! 
•  “Edison green” or white crew neck or hoodie sweatshirts (In fall, PTSA takes orders for hoodies with Edison logo.)  Plain “Edison green” or white hoodies or crew neck sweatshirts are allowed. 
•  “Edison green” polar fleece jackets (logo optional- found at K. Renees & C & J’s) 
• Edison plaid ties and “Edison green,” Edison plaid, black, khaki, or white hair accessories for girls (barrettes, bands, scrunchies, and ribbons) are allowed. 

BOTTOMS

• Khaki or black pants (no cargo style which have large pockets on lower legs), capri pants (no cargo style), shorts (no cargo style & fingertip length or longer), and box pleat skirts (3 inches from floor when kneeling or longer) 
  
• Edison plaid kick pleat skirts (3 inches from floor when kneeling) or skort (fingertip length or longer) 

BELTS

• Black, brown, tan, or white belts without decoration are acceptable, but not required.  Belts need to be threaded through belt loops, not worn as an accessory.   

SOCKS

• White, black, khaki, “Edison green” crew or ankle socks; white or “Edison green” knee socks; and white tights NO LEGGINGS & NO BLACK KNEE SOCKS! 

No particular style of shoe is required; and no denim is allowed.  Many stores feature uniform sections in their catalogs and stores.  Parents are encouraged to shop where they choose.  If you have any questions, please call Assistant Principal Dr. Judith Holt at 746-8547.
